The oil was first used centuries ago to rejuvenate the skin. Ancient Roman emperors, ancient Greek priests, and ancient Egyptian pharaohs anointed the skin with oil. Then they were almost the only cosmetics, they were literally worth their weight in gold and were available only to the nobility.
With the development of the chemical industry, more effective synthetic creams emerged, and for a time, oils were unfairly forgotten.
But today, after careful research, when scientists discover new anti-aging properties of vegetable oils, they are reborn.
Currently, there is a real boom in the use of natural cosmetics based on natural oils and plant extracts around the world.
Why oils are good
All vegetable oils can be divided into two main groups - natural and essential. They can be used both individually and together, buy ready-made compositions or compose them yourself. These products are obtained from quality natural raw materials by cold pressing. They can be obtained from nuts, seeds, grains and fruit pits. These oils are primarily a valuable source of food, as most of them contain:
- the most powerful natural antioxidants - vitamins C and E;
- vitamin A, which increases skin elasticity;
- B vitamins that improve the condition of the skin, hair, nails;
- valuable trace elements - selenium, iodine, manganese, iron, copper, etc. ;
- vital minerals - potassium, calcium, magnesium, fluoride, etc.
The secret of such a strong effect of natural oils on human skin is that they have a chemical composition similar to sebum in their formula. Allergies are very rare for them, do not cause irritation and have a clear emollient and sedative effect.
Natural vegetable oils are often the main components of creams and masks, where essential oils with truly unique properties are easily dissolved.
Interestingly, in many ways, essential oils are still a mystery to humans. Due to their origin, they are volatile aromatic substances that can be found in various parts of plants. Sometimes tons of raw materials have to be processed to obtain a small amount of pure essential oil, so the cost can be very high.
The most remarkable feature of essential oils is their ability to penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin due to their low molecular weight structure. In addition, absolutely all of them have antiseptic and bactericidal properties and can in one way or another affect the mental state of a person.
Now their therapeutic properties are being studied. However, what we already know about them allows us to use them effectively both at home and in professional cosmetology.
Natural oils
Natural vegetable oils are used not only for the face, but for the whole body. Dozens of massages quickly and effectively improve the condition of the skin, moisturize and even out fine wrinkles.
However, not all of them are always liquid. Some of them (cocoa, shea, coconut, etc. ) harden at room temperature and are similar in structure to oily paraffin. Prior to use, the solids should be heated in a water bath until dissolved. Due to this feature, such oils are often the main components for making creams at home.
Different types of oils have different properties, so they should be selected individually depending on the condition of the skin and the problem to be solved using them.
